Each school is rated by AI exposure level, a cumulative measure of AI investments, partnerships, industry funding, and more. The vast majority of ratings are labelled as incomplete due to endowment nondisclosure policies. Nevertheless, we ranked them with the information that was available. Note: Many schools fund AI initiatives aimed at public-good applications, such as biomedical research, climate solutions, and sustainable agriculture. These projects are not counted in the rating, and related information may be absent from a school's description.

!	Incomplete Rating	This school does not disclose endowment investments. A complete AI exposure rating could not be generated because the underlying financial data is not publicly available.

Symbol	Level of AI Investment	What It Means
	Extreme	AI is structurally redefining this institution. Includes investments, gifts, military contracts, or endowment holdings worth hundreds of millions.
	High	Significant AI exposure that falls short of institution-defining. Includes sub-$100M AI programs, such as industry research partnerships, collaborations with AI corporations, or AI-exposed endowment holdings.
	Moderate	These institutions may have smaller scale or internal AI programs. They are not a standout feature of the institution.
	Low	These institutions have negligible AI programs, partnerships, or investments. They fully disclose their endowment holdings at a high or itemized level.
	Undisclosed	No disclosure of investemnts. No significant AI programs/partnerships. AI exposure cannot be confirmed or ruled out; the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
